— The Benefits of Counselling
Providing Practical Solutions for Effective Change!
As both a Registered Clinical Counsellor and EMDR practitioner, I am able to work with you to uncover the root of your uncomfortable feelings, and give you the tools and techniques to live a more purposeful and balanced life. I have been working to support families and individuals in Surrey, White Rock, Vancouver and the Fraser Valley for over a decade. It is my goal to help you to find a new balance in your life: in your friendships, relationships, fitness, health, self-esteem and personal performance goals.
I believe that everyone has the capacity for change when given the right support, tools and guidance. I find it very rewarding to see clients move from lifelong patterns that are uncomfortable and unsuccessful, into new positive ways of being.
Whether it’s flying free of fear, driving over bridges, speaking in public, enjoying relationships in new ways, having a healthy relationship with food and body image, or any number of other positive outcomes, I am able to quickly assess what a client needs and create a specialized program to move toward lasting change.

My counselling style is practical, effective and compassionate. I believe in providing my clients with a safe, supportive and non-judgemental environment where they can feel at ease to discuss their problems and issues. I also believe in quickly finding the tools and techniques that can help give clients immediate relief and begin the process toward positive and effective change.
I feel it’s important to understand what to expect during the counselling process. In our first sessions, you will begin by sharing your current experience of life, and how you would envision your life if you were able to move past your negative thoughts, feelings and behaviours.
Following this, I will take the information you provide, and design a realistic and effective plan to achieve your goals, incorporating any number of appropriate and useful techniques based on my training, education and experience.
I will fully explain the suggested approach and answer any questions you may have so you know what to expect and are comfortable with beginning the process of change in a safe and comfortable way.
Because my focus is always on finding the right techniques to help you feel better right away, I find that many issues resolve in as little as four to six sessions, although it always depends on your specific set of circumstances.

If you have ever been startled, panicked or anxious you are all too familiar with the pounding heart, sick feeling in your stomach, hyperventilating and a feeling of being outside of your body unable to think clearly.
Help with Stress

Imagine it this way-we experience an event (real or imaginary) and then in an instant we perceive that event. The event itself is called a stressor. Our perception of that stressor sends an automatic message to our mind and our body.
Help with Relationships

The relationships that we have in our life add to our happiness or make our lives miserable. The way we approach and behave in relationships is directly influenced by our early learning in our immediate family and then our community.
